College Room Tour

My room is my happy place (aside from Target and Starbucks), so today I’m sharing a little college room tour! I love seeing the way people decorate the spaces they spend most of their time in. Whether they’re light and cozy or fun and bright, room tours are some of my favorite posts!

The first thing you see when you walk into my room is where I spend pretty much all of my time… my bed. I kept my bed simple and comfy – plenty of blankets and pillows – so the main focus would be on the gallery wall above my bed. Gallery walls are so cute, but they definitely don’t come together overnight! To keep the wall looking coordinated, I focus on pieces that are light pink, navy or teal. That way, any time I find new art that I love, I already know if it’ll look good with the wall!

Next to my bed is my desk! Normally it’s a lot messier than this… covered in papers and books. However, even when then, I find my desk to be a bright, inspirational space. I have a bulletin board filled with some of my favorite things. Again, to keep everything in sync, I chose a color scheme! Bright pink, mint, and plenty of white. And, you may notice another theme… cacti. I’m a bit obsessed. By having a general theme, I can easily take from and add to the bulletin board.

Across from my bed is my closet and dresser and… you guessed it, another gallery wall! My favorite tip for gallery walls is to play with unexpected materials, like the broken china I found. In the basket below the gallery wall I have a ton of blankets, which is perfect for when friends come over + I love that the blankets actually add more color.

In a little corner nook next to my closet is my dresser! Right now, the top of my dresser is a bit of a mashup of a ton of things as I’m trying to decide exactly how to decorate it. I’m hoping to collect enough postcards to make it a postcard wall. For now, though, it’s a bit of a landing place for anything I find cute – from magazines, to glass bottles, to nail polish. If you have any fun tips for decorating small spaces like this, please let me know!

So, there you have it! My fun little college room tour. I have absolutely loved decorating my room & I’m so excited to live there for 2 more years.
