Podcasts for Every Mood

Have a long drive to work? Cleaning your apartment? Bored with your Netflix queue? Podcasts are the answer! I am a HUGE podcast girl, but sometimes it’s so hard to find the exact right podcast for your mood. Today, I’m sharing 6 podcasts for EVERY mood – whether you want to be inspired or you just want a fun story.

1. If you want to feel like you’re watching Netflix… King Falls AM.

King Falls AM is my favorite podcast ever… hands down. I’ve told my friends about it, posted screenshots on my story, and written about it here before. I like to describe King Falls AM as Welcome to Night Vale with a structured plot. The premise of the podcast is two late-night radio hosts in a strange town, King Falls. The hosts, Ben and Sammy, are hilarious (I laugh out loud when I listen), and the plot keeps me hooked. Plus, there are a ton of episodes, so you know you’ll have plenty to binge.

2. If you want to feel inspired… No Limits With Rebecca Jarvis.

Adrienne from A Dash of Adrienne shared this on her blog, and I. am. hooked. In each episode, Rebecca interviews successful women in tons of industries and asks about their stories, their advice, and more. From bloggers to editors to CEOs, there’s a variety of industries represented, but no matter what, I feel SO inspired. Above all, each episode kicks my ambition into gear while also reminding me that everyone has a different path. The perfect podcast for a quick punch of inspiration.

3. If you want to get spooked… Blackout.

This podcast sends shivers down my spine, forreal. The first season just ended, and I had no idea they were even making a second, so now I’m counting down to the next. Blackout stars Rami Malek (yeah, that Rami Malek) as a radio host who’s broadcasting his thoughts in the midst of a blackout in his town. As the podcast goes on, the details surrounding the blackout become more sinister. I absolutely love listening to this podcast on the bus to my apartment when I could put my headphones, close my eyes, and really be absorbed in the plot.

4. If you love the X Files… Kumail Nanjiani’s X Files Files.

This podcast is another that makes me laugh out loud. Kumail is a hilarious actor/TV writer, and you can feel how genuinely funny he is in this podcast. For each episode, he brings on a guest and they review an episode or two of X Files. I had watched an episode or two of the X Files before, but this podcast has inspired me to start watching them in order JUST so I can listen to the next podcast episode. The X Files is available on Hulu, so start watching it, and then listen to this podcast!

5. If you love comedians… You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes.

To be fair, I’ve only listened to two episodes of this podcast BUT they were so funny that I think it’s worth mentioning. One of my tips for finding new podcasts is simply searching for people you like to listen to… In this case, I looked up John Mulaney. I found a ton of interviews he’d done on podcasts, and after listening to his interview with Pete Holmes, I also listened to Andy Samberg. Comedian podcasts are such a great blend of funny and informative – you get to learn more about comedy as an industry.

6. If you want to learn more about blogging/Instagram… the Influencer Podcast with Julie Solomon.

This podcast might be on every blogger’s list of podcasts, but that’s because it is full of great info. When I go through major blogging phases (aka I want to learn everything I can), I binge this podcast. It’s fun to hear from some well-known bloggers whose voices I only know behind the screen, and it’s also nice to get actionable tips. If you’re not a blogger, but you are interested in digital marketing or anything social media, I think you would still love this podcast.
