The Perfect Spring Look

May is one of my favorite months. School is out, but I haven’t started my summer job, so this is a month of fun! I love to fill it with lounging at the pool, walking around different spots of Birmingham, and trying different restaurants. For me, May is tricky to decide what to wear! One day it’s humid enough that I just want a tank top and shorts, but then the next is cool and breezy. #AlabamaWeather. My trick for this in-between weather is stocking up on printed tops that pair well with jeans or shorts! Today I’ll be sharing the perfect spring look, featuring a top that would look just as cute with high-waisted jeans as it would with denim shorts.

Florals for spring are classic (for a reason). I love that the details on this top make it perfect for summer too! I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone with tops… aka no more stripes or basics. I went shopping with friends yesterday, and every time I walked toward stripes they told me no. I may have a problem…

The solution for my stripes and solid-colored shirt addiction? New patterns. Florals are my favorite pattern to transition from spring to summer, because I can pair them with anything. It’s getting way too hot to wear jeans like I did in these pictures, but this top looks just as good with denim shorts… or white jeans… or a denim skirt. You get the idea.

Of course, you can go for bright florals, but my personal favorite at the moment is this soft pink. It’s just light enough that I can wear it with any wash of denim, and it looks great with different colors. I’m having a major pink moment, and my closet is filled with pinks and blues right now! Definitely spring/Easter hues, but I love them.

Also, I wanted to point out that the first image is from Mother’s Day lunch with my family! If there was ever any doubt that I wear every outfit I post, now it’s obvious!

Do you have any go-to spring looks?! I’d love to know in the comments below!
