Trend in Transition: Florals

Spring is almost officially here (!!) but the weather is still going back and forth. One day it’ll be so hot I’m convinced summer’s here already, then the next I’m breaking out all the layers! Even though the weather hasn’t made up its mind, I’m 100% ready for spring – sunny days, driving with the windows down, and wearing all the florals. So, today I’m sharing how I style florals for this in-between season of winter and spring!  These are the tips I follow when I want an outfit that feels perfect for spring, even if the weather outside doesn’t match.

1. Start with a floral skirt.

Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of skirts. I know, I know! A fashion blogger who doesn’t like skirts?! But, something about this skirt makes it one of my favorites. The colors are my favorite for spring – blush & lavender. Everyone has different opinions about their favorite floral patterns (big and bold! small and sweet!), so I recommend looking around until you find your personal favorite.

2. Add a denim chambray.

It’s no secret I love denim chambrays (I style one here) – they are the perfect piece for any occasion. I added one here because it’s a warmer option + it makes the look just a little more casual. Denim chambrays are great for layering, so on a warmer day you could simply add the chambray on top of a tank. Then, if it gets hot in the afternoon (hello, AL weather), you don’t have to worry about sweating through your shirt… we’ve all been there!

3. Choose shoes based on the occasion.

For this shoot, I added my favorite sandals, but if it’s chilly outside, ankle boots would be perfect! Again, this is one of my favorite looks because of how easy it is to revamp and restyle. You could wear sandals for a summery day, ankle boots if it’s colder, or throw on your favorite pair of wedges to dress it up.

Until the weather makes up its mind, I hope these tips help! Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo, Cecilia
