Styling a Sundress for Fall

Last week it finally felt like the beginning of fall. There was a cool breeze, I wore a sweatshirt, and I even drank hot coffee without sweating. Apparently I celebrated too much, because this week we were right back to temperatures in the 80s. I’m hoping by posting this, I’ll somehow convince the weather to change… A girl can dream, right?!

My Tips and Tricks for Styling a Sundress for Fall

1.) Start with your favorite sundress… duh.

I’m not the biggest fan of dresses, but I love how easy sundresses are. In the summer, they’re perfect for keeping cool, but as it gets colder they’re great for layering! Most of my sundresses (okay, all) are solid colors but these transitions are also so fun with patterned dresses. I love seeing bloggers’ takes on wearing florals for fall, and this would be the perfect way to style them.

2.) Add layers – My go-to is a denim chambray.

I am always cold, so I normally bring layering clothes with me anyway. (Who’s with me?!) A warm cardigan is always a good option, but I find that they can be too hot this early in the season. Enter the denim chambray. Denim chambray shirts are so cute, comfortable… Plus you can wear them a million different ways.

3.) Wear ankle boots.

For me, a true sign of fall is when my Instagram feed is flooded with pictures of boots and leaves. It is WAY too hot for tall boots right now, but if you still want to evoke that fall feeling, ankle boots or mules are my go-to. P.S. A link to these exact shoes are down below… and they’re only $25. Please buy them so we can match.

So there are my tips for styling a sundress for fall. Here’s hoping that this post inspires the weather to transition from summer to fall…
