fallin’ for flannel

It’s officially fall… according to the calendar. Alabama weather, however, is just as hot and humid as ever, which is making it hard for me to dress for the season. So, today I’m sharing my tips for building an outfit perfect for this in-between, one-minute-you’re-sweating-the-next-you’re-freezing weather!

The Outfit Essentials:

1. A basic tank or shirt that’s soft & breathable! Olive green is one of my favorite colors year-round but it’s an especially good fall color (I shared a few of my other favorites in my last blog post here!) but a few of my other favorite colors for fall are yellow, red, and orange – how original, right?!

2. Ankle boots are my favorite. It’s no secret, everyone knows it. But I’m going to talk even more about it because ankle boots are perfect for this in-between weather! For real, if you don’t have a pair of ankle boots, go get some!

3. And now, the most important part… A flannel! Flannels are my best friend during this season because I can tie them around my waist (like I did here!) then when I walk into my dorm and start to freeze (it’s honestly a tundra in there) I can throw it over my shirt! Flannels can be so inexpensive if you know where to look (men’s sections… best place for clearance flannels!) and they are the comfiest things ever, no lie.

I hope this little guide helps you guys out during this super weird weather! I’m so excited to start sharing fall posts once it cools down a little!

Thanks for reading!
