one vest, two ways

I’m so excited to share these two ways to style a vest today – when I first started thinking of this post, I came up with so many ideas (for real, vests go with everything!) that I think I’ll break this into a few different posts. This vest is my favorite and it is a great starting place if you aren’t sure what kind of vest to get! I love that it’s both casual enough to wear over a comfy t-shirt yet it also looks great with nicer outfits.

The first way I styled the vest is so cute and would be perfect for Church or any occasion that you didn’t want to just wear jeans. (Word of warning: I was shivering while I shot this outfit. It definitely needs tights for this time of year, even in Alabama!) The obvious highlight of the outfit (other than the vest, of course) is the skort. I shared a little about this skort in my autumn bucket list, but it really is a testimony to always checking clearance racks because you never know what you may find! Something about the skort feels casual and put together all at once and I’ve been finding myself reaching for it multiple times since I got it.

Another recent purchase that I bought specifically to wear with the vest is this white long-sleeve shirt. It will be great for layering: with this vest, under cardigans, etc. You’ll also see it in this post in the second look… What can I say, I love re-wearing pieces!

The second way I styled this outfit is more casual (and more warm… bonus!) and the main feature is the blanket scarf. I’ve been looking for the perfect blanket scarf for such a long time but every one I saw either didn’t have the right colors or was too expensive (and I 100% consider $20 for a scarf too expensive, haha!) But then I stumbled across this one in Target’s little “Spot” section (aka where all of the cutest things are) and it was only $7!

Needless to say, it’s one of the best $7 I’ve spent in a while – it’s so warm & the scarf I chose has the perfect colors. A few of the other patterns were super cute so if you haven’t checked out your Target recently, I suggest you rush over there so you can pick one of these up!

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post! I love sharing different ways I style my favorite pieces because the best investments are pieces you can wear multiple times. Next week is finals week (wish me luck!) so there won’t be a new post, but then I’ll be on my way back to Birmingham for a month! I am so excited & so thankful to have this time to relax.

XO Cecilia
