styling palazzo pants

Happy Thursday! Today I wanted to share a super cute outfit perfect for winter & spring along with my tips and tricks for styling palazzo pants. Palazzo pants are such a fun trend, plus they feel like pajama pants, which makes them a win-win in my opinion. But, because they can be so long and wide, it can be hard to style them in a stylish way that’s comfortable but still makes you feel put together. That’s where these tips come in!

1. Choose patterned palazzo pants. Not only are patterned pants fun, but I think they’re also more flattering than solid-colored wide-leg pants. Plus, patterned palazzo pants are too easy to style – you just add a simple top! I love that these pants that I picked up last year from Target have a different pattern at the bottom – it breaks up the overall pattern and adds a unique element.

2. Wear heels. Of course this is personal preference, but I’m personally so short that I had to add heels just so I wasn’t drowning in the pants! I think by adding heels, it elevates the look from “Is she wearing pajama pants?” to “Wow, those look so comfy and cute… Where can I get them?”

3. Break up your top pieces & add texture. I broke up my top pieces here by wearing a cream lace crop top that brought in colors of the pants and I added a denim chambray on top. The denim chambray adds another texture and color and makes the overall look more put-together.

4. Wear fitted pieces. Because the pants are flowy, I knew I didn’t want to add an oversized top (even though that would have been so comfy). Instead, I went for a cropped, structured top that was more flattering but still comfortable.

5. Keep accessories simple. I didn’t add any jewelry to this look, but if I had, I would have kept it simple by adding a dainty necklace. The pattern of the pants will be the main focus of the outfit, so you don’t want to distract from them by adding a huge statement necklace.

Palazzo pants are perfect for this time of year because they keep you warm without being too hot, and who doesn’t want to feel like they’re wearing pajamas all day?!
