Birthday Wish List

My birthday’s in a few weeks (June 7th, if you were wondering!) so today I’m sharing my birthday wish list… a few presents I may treat myself to, along with what I want to do to celebrate! One of my favorite birthday traditions is spending the day with my mom. My mom does this with me and my brothers on our birthdays, and we spend the whole day choosing what to do. My brothers like to spend the day doing something – trampoline parks, arcades, etc. I always choose to shop! Sometimes I have no idea what I want, and sometimes I like to make a little list.

As you could imagine, I love clothes. I have a few pieces I’ve wanted to pick up for some time now that I’ll share below. My favorite “method” of shopping is going in with a few ideas of pieces I want but also being open to unexpected items!

What I Want to Buy

Olive Green Jeans

I consider olive green a neutral! I’ve been looking for olive green pants to pair with denim chambray shirts or any of my (many) black shirts.

Off the Shoulder Top

Off-the-shoulder, blue-and-white-striped tops are so on trend right now… And I love them. They’re so versatile – perfect with white pants, darker jeans, and olive green jeans!

Beautiful Notebook

I LOVE notebooks. I use a modified “bullet journal” system in a notebook to plan my days and blog posts. My current notebook (different pattern here) is almost full, so it’s time for a new one!

What I Want to Do

This year I’m especially grateful, because I’ll get to celebrate with friends on my actual birthday! My birthday is Wednesday, so after a day at work, my friends and I will eat together at one of our favorite restaurants. I have a wonderful group of friends and I’m so glad I’ll celebrate with them. Of course, we won’t all be there… One of our best friends, Addie, is spending the summer doing architecture studio at Auburn. Wish her luck!

My friends and I will celebrate on my actual birthday, and then on the weekend I’ll celebrate with my mom! We’ll probably spend the day at the Summit (my favorite place to shop) and shop until we drop.

The most important thing I want to do, though, is slow down and be grateful. My birthday is just another day, so I don’t want to elevate it – that will inevitably lead to disappointment. Instead, I want to look around and really think about how lucky I am to be alive right now (hello, Hamilton reference). I’m an insanely lucky person – I have friends and family I love who love me right back. It doesn’t get better than that!

xoxo, Cecilia
