Mother’s Day Gift Ideas That She’ll Actually Want

Anyone who knows me at all knows my mom is one of my favorite people in the world. She’s kind, funny and my biggest role model! I’m thankful for her every day, but Mother’s Day is the perfect day to take time to recognize everything she does for me and my family. Today I’m sharing Mother’s Day gift ideas… that she’ll actually want.

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 13… aka less than one week away! Each of these ideas is inexpensive or free, plus you have time for any of them. Above all, I know that what my mom really wants is “good kids”. The best gift is spending time with her and helping as much as I can around the house… but sometimes it’s nice to actually give her something too!

A Handwritten Card

Okay, okay, this is possibly the most basic gift ever… But I think there’s nothing sweeter than writing out how thankful you are! I picked up this card from the Target $1 section because I think it really says it all. I like to buy big packs of cute notecards to use throughout the year. It’s so convenient to have a few different styles of cards stockpiled for every occasion. Of course, for this Sunday, you may need to make a quick Target run… but there’s no complaining here!

Fresh Flowers

I don’t know anyone, mom or not, who wouldn’t appreciate fresh flowers! Flowers brighten up any space + they can be customized to different price ranges. You can easily combine a small bouquet with a handwritten note for a super sweet gift.

Framed Family Picture

I’m always wary of buying my mom an actual item because even though we have similar styles, I’m never sure how often she’ll wear a piece of jewelry or use a certain lotion. One item that I think any mother would appreciate is a framed picture of the family! You can choose a frame that fits your mom’s style best, or you could even just print a few pictures of the family at Walgreen’s and let your mom decides how she wants to use them – whether it’s by putting them in her office or framing them later.

 Create a Memory

Instead of giving my mom a necklace she may never wear again, I think it’s so fun to create a memory. Whether it’s FaceTiming her if you don’t live at home, planning a family meal to celebrate, or gifting her a certificate for mother-daughter mani-pedis, she’ll love that you gave the gift of time together. A few other ideas for spending time together are picking up concert tickets for an artist you both love, a gift card to your favorite restaurant with a date planned, or movie tickets for a movie you both want to see… unless your mom is like mine, who just falls asleep in the theater!

I hope this post helped you even just a little if you still weren’t sure what to get your mom! Some moms may love flowers or jewelry, some just want chocolate and time for a nap, but overall, I think all any mom wants is time with her family. I hope you get to spend plenty of time with your mom or maternal figure on Sunday!

Have a great day and thanks for reading!

xoxo, Cecilia
