Trend in Transition: Sundress

Summer is officially here for me, so it’s the season of fun, bright fashion! Sundresses, denim shorts, sandals. But, just because it’s officially summer for me doesn’t mean that’s true for everyone… or the weather. Today I’m sharing how I transition a breezy sundress from a warm day at the pool to a chillier dinner.

1. Start with a favorite sundress (or swimsuit coverup)

I actually won this dress a few years ago but haven’t worn it until now! Strappy sundresses are some of my favorite dresses to style. Because they aren’t fitted, you don’t have to worry about wearing anything specific under… meaning they’re easy to quickly change into after the pool!

2. Slip on mules.

Mules have been a new obsession of mine because they’re cute for all seasons. I like to wear sandals to the pool (obviously…) but with a shift dress like this, I want to add heels. Mules are my go-to option because they require no thought at all. Unlike with ankle boots, you don’t need to wear socks, and they’re comfier than some of my favorite wedges.

3. Add a denim chambray.

Ah, the denim chambray. Aka probably the most featured item on my blog. But, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it! For real, a denim chambray is the perfect way to transition a sundress from day to night, or spring to summer. It keeps the look casual, but still looks like you spent time thinking about your outfit. And, because it’s such a versatile piece, it will go with pretty much any sundress you could own!

This is the perfect look for lazy days by the pool and dinners with family…. basically what summer Saturdays are made of!

xoxo, Cecilia
