Summer Favorites

If you follow any fashion bloggers, you may have heard about a special sale going on… Well, this is NOT another NSale post! Today I’ll be sharing all of my summer favorites, from beauty to fashion to all of life’s in-betweens!

Fashion

Bold jewelry – In my last post I shared a little bit about my love for statement jewelry, especially in the summer. While my usual go-to pieces are delicate and simple, I like to change up my normal looks – especially when pictures are involved!

Stripes – Okay, okay… This is not a summer favorite of mine by any means. It’s an all-the-time favorite. BUT when summer comes along, I find myself even more drawn to stripes – from shirts to shorts. Every time I shop, I go through the exact same cycle: immediately go to the stripes, tell myself I don’t need any more stripes, then buy the stripes anyway.

Sales – Not even talking about the NSale rn – July is shaping up to be the BEST time for sales. I’ve picked up a ton of steals from stores like Target (of course), Charming Charlie, and Madewell.

Beauty

Natural makeup, bold brows – Bold brows are a favorite of mine regardless of the weather, but especially during the summer, I like to keep my makeup as simple as possible. It’s so humid outside that any makeup I wear will immediately sweat off, so I keep it simple with face powder and brow gel.

Random

Concerts – This has been my summer of concerts so far. On my birthday, my friends and I saw a band called POND at Saturn in Birmingham and had SO much fun. I didn’t know any songs, but I danced my heart out and had a blast – the best way to celebrate turning twenty. The next few weekends I went to see Dua Lipa and then Logic (aka the love of my life). Both concerts had different vibes and were amazing experiences.

Pepper Place Market – I’ve been going to Pepper Place Market on Saturday mornings with a friend and it reminds me how much I love Birmingham! Whether I pick up fresh flowers and breakfast or simply stroll around sampling, I always find myself having an amazing time.

Musicals – I go through musical phases once every few months… First it was Hamilton, then Dear Evan Hansen. Now? I’m obsessed with the movie soundtrack version of The Last Five Years with Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan. The movie makes me angry in all the good ways that a movie can and I find myself with the songs stuck in my head all the time now.

What are your random summer favorites?! Anything I should check out? Let me know in the comments below!
