Week in 30A Guide | Food, Fun & Photo Spots

What’s better than a week at the beach? A week at the beach with a best friend, of course! This July, I spent a week in 30A with Greer – a constant feature behind the scenes of this blog. We stayed in the cutest Airbnb on Grayton Beach and had the best time. Today I’m sharing what we did plus where we ate! Plus, I’ll share some of our favorite photo spots in case you wanted to have a mini photoshoot.

What to Do

Bike Along 30A

I say this as an un-athletic, uncoordinated person: you should rent a bike. Our Airbnb came with a few bikes, but we also rented a couple. Everything along 30A is just in a few mile radius, and biking made each commute so much easier. The bike ride from Grayton Beach to Seaside is the most beautiful!

Shop at Seaside

Seaside is full of shopping destinations, but I just loved exploring each shop! Make sure to pop into the bookstore, Sundog Books, and Central Square Records upstairs. We loved browsing all of the books and records. I didn’t actually buy anything at any of the Seaside stores (a little more pricey than I usually spend on vacation!) but I loved window shopping.

Dive into a New Book

If you’re anything like me, you’re constantly wishing you had more time to enjoy a good book. Vacation is the perfect time to prioritize this! I finally read Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, and reading it on the beach made it so relaxing.

Visit Rum Runners in Destin

If you’re looking for a fun thing to do at night, make the drive to Destin (about 30 minutes away) to visit the Rum Runners bar! At Rum Runners, they have dueling pianists every night. The music is super fun, and it’s all-ages until 10PM! After 10, it becomes 21 up, but no matter how old you are, I would recommend checking this bar out.

Grab a Cup of Coffee

Nothing brightens my day like trying a new coffee shop. We stopped by Bad Ass Coffee Company (a Florida chain) and grabbed iced lavender-something lattes and they were SO refreshing. I’m not sure why lavender is such a big coffee shop trend right now, but I’m not complaining!

Where to Eat

Crepe du Soleil

I. love. crepes. And anytime I get the chance to try new crepes, I jump on it! Crepe du Soleil is a food truck in Seaside, and I would so recommend it for breakfast or dessert. Greer and I biked over to Seaside early one morning for a fun blog photoshoot, and right when this truck opened, we grabbed crepes! We both got the Chantilly Dream – strawberries, bananas, and whipped cream. This was the perfect sweet breakfast, and I could have eaten every meal there!

Nanbu Noodle Bar

This noodle bar in Grayton was amazing. After a long morning on the beach, Greer and I biked over to this shopping center. The restaurant is adorable – we felt a little out of place in our swimsuits, but we were very welcome! Greer ordered miso pork ramen and I got the chicken yaki ramen – aka chicken and ramen that’s stir fried. SO good.

Chiringo

A few Birmingham bloggers that I love went on a weekend trip to 30A, and I saw them talk about Chiringo. I was so excited when I realized that Chiringo was a short walk from our Airbnb. No matter what you get, try to order a small side of the fried plantains. They were perfectly sweet and chewy – a surprising highlight of my meal!

Where to Take Photos

Taking fun photos and finding new photo locations is one of my favorite hobbies! Seaside is absolutely full of fun photo spots with colorful walls and bright details. Thankfully, because Seaside is a small area, it should be easy to find any of these spots if you want to have your own mini photo shoot!

Blue and White Striped Wall, Seaside Caban

These blue and white striped walls are the absolute cutest. The Seaside Cabana is covered in them, so it’ll be easy to find a place with good lighting!

Purple Mural, Vincent Scully Tribute

Trust me, you can’t miss this mural. It is absolutely huge, and it features the portrait of Vincent Scully. But, because the mural is so huge and there’s a small sidewalk where you can stand, any photos you take will just have this light purple wall!

Beach Entrance, Seaside Cabana

I am always trying to switch up the content I share on Instagram and looking for new inspiration. I’ve really loved seeing bloggers share photos with different perspectives, and I thought this was the perfect chance to try that myself! If you continue going through the Seaside Cabana, you’ll find a beach entrance that has this tall structure. A little shift in perspective made this structure the coolest photo opp.

To see the rest of the photos we took, make sure to keep up with my Instagram! If you’re a blogger (or just an Insta lover), you know the struggle of feeling inspired to post on Instagram. After this morning shooting photos in Seaside, I am more excited than ever for my feed. The smallest things bring the most joy!

This was the sweetest week – the kind that feels like it could be in a movie! I’m already looking forward to the next time I’m able to visit 30A.
