May Favorites

May has felt like the LONGEST month ever, so I wanted to share my May favorites as we wrap the month up! It’s hard to believe that at the beginning of this month I was still finishing out my junior year. Since then, I’ve applied/emailed (probably) a hundred places looking for a summer internship. I’ve gone to Pensacola beach with my friends, explored downtown Birmingham, and drank all the coffee.

Bondi Sands Liquid Gold Self Tanning Dry Oil

I received this product in the spring edition of the InfluenceHer Essentials Kit! I was honestly weary about it because of how many streaky self-tanner days I had in high school. However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. There’s definitely a learning curve to applying self-tanner, so it isn’t perfect. But overall, the application is straightforward, nicely scented, and evens out my skintone without turning me into an Oompah Loompah. I’ve read some reviews online that are disappointed that the color payoff is so light, but that truly is ideal for someone as pale as me!

Target Turquoise Collared Shirt

On the blog, we talked about the workwear struggle! This top was one of the first pieces I picked up when I was last-minute shopping for an internship interview. For the interview, I tucked the top into black pants. A few days later for a day exploring Birmingham, I paired it with fabric shorts! I love the color and fit of the top – it’s the perfect transitional piece.

Favorite Entertainment

The album that I have been streaming on repeat is Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You. It is absolutely full of the happiest, most uplifting songs. Literally perfect for any mood. Having a bad day? Lizzo. Feeling confident? Lizzo. Everything points back to Lizzo.

I’ve been watching The Bold Type recently and really enjoying it! It’s a sweet show – definitely not perfect, and I often get frustrated with the characters and some of their choices. But overall, I’m hooked.

And… THE BACHELORETTE. Y’all. I’m officially in, and I get why everyone’s always loved it so much! It is SO entertaining and funny. I’m 100% team Connor right now, but I also love Pilot Pete and Mike. Who are your favorites?!

Favorite Collaboration

Let me start off by saying, I love every collaboration I take! I truly only work with brands that I either already love or that I know will line up with mine and my audience’s values. I value this platform so much, and that means I won’t partner with products I don’t feel good about promoting.

That being said, every once in a while I get the opportunity to collaborate with a brand that is incredibly exciting! When I got an email from Express about working with them, I basically did a happy dance. Working with well-known brands is a concrete affirmation of the hard work I put into this blog. Obviously, working with brands is not where I place my own value, or even how I define how well I’ve done with this blog. But, I do want to encourage you if you’re also a blogger – your hard work will pay off. It might not be in the ways you expect, but it will. Furthermore, Express’s clothing is amazing. I’ve been sharing it on my blog and on Instagram, and I hope you’ve loved those posts!
