Sunny Days #3: Auburn February Recap

February is almost OVER so today I’m rounding up my time with a month in my life! Chatting about favorite moments, delicious food, and everything in between.

Santos Coffee in Hoover

On the first day of February, I was in Birmingham so my mom and I decided to check out Santos Coffee‘s newest location. I’ve been to their downtown spot, but I only had crepes there (10/10) so this time I finally got their coffee… Guys. BEST COFFEE IN BIRMINGHAM. I said it. The lavender/basil latte was absolutely amazing. I love a lavender latte, but sometimes they taste a little bit soapy. This one tasted floral & creamy. SO good.

Auburn Rec Classes

If you follow along on Instagram, you might know I ordered the Auburn campus rec class pass. This pass is $50 & gives free admission to any class. I’m planning on sharing my thoughts in a blog post later, but right now I am loving barre and butts & guts.

Weekly Bao Dates

An essential part of the 2020 Auburn experience is Dumps Like a Truck/The Irritable Bao. I eat here every single week & I already dread the day that it isn’t a ten-minute drive away! This restaurant serves homemade bao and dumplings with a menu that changes every day. My personal favorite baos are the buffalo chicken dip & the zucchini, egg and glass noodles. PLUS the owners are the kindest people ever. If you go more than once they’ll remember you & always make you feel so special!

Sorority Scholarship Banquet

My sorority had a scholarship banquet at one of my favorite Auburn restaurants & it was SO yummy. I loaded up on fettuccine alfredo and had enough for leftovers the next day which is a college girl’s dream.

Toomer’s + Blog Photos on Campus

I don’t have class on Fridays, so I love to use that time to do a TON of blog work. Normally I take photos with a tripod on self-timer, but when my friend Greer is able to take photos with me I jump on the chance. She is so much fun to shoot with and we knock out so much content. I’ve never taken photos on campus like this before, but I love all of the photos we took. We grabbed some of Toomer’s famous lemonade & I definitely teared up every single time we saw a high school tour passing by… I don’t want to leave!

Tacorita Lunch Dates

Another restaurant I’ll miss when I graduate: Tacorita. I get Tacorita at least once a week because it is SO good. My personal favorite tacos are the chicken tinga, the pulled chicken & the cheesy chicken. They have amazing daily specials like a $10 margarita pitcher on Thursdays and $2 tacos on Tuesdays. YUM.

February was an amazing month filled with tons of highs… but don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of lows too! I applied to a job I’ve wanted since middle school (!!) but a few days before that, I got an official rejection (aka they want someone for immediate hire… that obviously ain’t ya girl). I had plenty of fun times with friends, but there are also nights where I was lonely or feeling less than. That’s all part of life – we’ll never be truly satisfied on Earth, and we’ll have plenty of hard times, but we can also make the best of it! Here’s to March!
