Auburn Favorites: Restaurants & Coffee Shops

It’s no secret I LOVE Auburn. The past four years in this little college town have been the best, and I can’t believe they’re coming to an end so soon! My last month in Auburn won’t be what I expected, but I am already planning on making plenty of visits next fall. Y’all know I love a good restaurant & coffee shop roundup, so today I’m sharing my favorite local Auburn restaurants & coffee shops! Whether you’re a current student or visiting for a game, I know you’ll love your time on the Plains as much as I have.

Favorite Auburn Restaurants

Good Karma: I seriously grab food from Good Karma once a week, whether it’s the food truck or their storefront! Their paneer tikka masala and vegetable samosas are the best things & I constantly crave them. Order pickup at their website.

The Irritable Bao: In just one year, Dumps Like a Truck/The Irritable Bao has become an Auburn classic. I’ve shared my obsession on the blog before, but if you aren’t familiar, this restaurant makes different homemade bao Wednesday through Saturday in a huge variety of flavors. From classics like pork and vegetarian options to unique flavors like buffalo chicken dip (my fav!!) and omelet, you have to check their menu on Instagram! Check their Instagram for updates on ordering.

Tacorita: I’m a tacos-at-least-once-a-week kinda gal, and Tacorita is my favorite Auburn destination. They have such unique flavor combos. The chicken tinga and the fried chicken with queso are so good!

Hamilton's avocado toast

Hamilton’s: Brunch is always a favorite, and Auburn has tons of great brunch spots! Hamilton’s avocado toast is my absolute favorite & I can’t wait to go back asap.

Amsterdam Cafe: This is another Auburn classic… for good reason! Their campus food truck is one of my favorites, and their turkey wrap with fries are so simple but delicious. Their food trucks are open in selected locations + the restaurant is offering curbside pickup.

Fuji: This is my favorite sushi/Japanese spot – I get the same thing every time (are you sensing a theme?). A spicy tuna roll, fried rice, and alllll the yum yum sauce. Yes. Please.

Favorite Auburn Coffee Shops

You already know I’ve got a blog post completely dedicated to this subject, but since I’ve written that post, we’ve gotten even more great coffee shops! Make sure to check these coffee shops’ Instagrams & other social media to see their offerings during this time. Many are still offering curbside pickup so you can get your caffeine fix & support local at the same time!

Mama Mocha’s: Perfect spot to catch up with friends or settle into a good book thanks to its cozy couches. My go-to order is the Bikini Bombshell (an iced latte with caramel & coconut) or the “iced crack” (cold brew, brown sugar, & milk).

Coffee Cat: Love grabbing a seat here to work on my blog or people watch – if you go to Auburn, you’ll definitely see one (or ten) people you know! I love an iced lavender latte here… might sound weird, but it’s amazing.

Uniq Coffee: This coffee shop is brand new to Auburn – I went during their soft opening week a few days before spring break (aka campus closing). The atmosphere is amazing & so bright. I grabbed a pour-over, but my friend got their strawberry latte – basically a classy adult version of a strawberry milkshake.

The Bean: The Bean opened their new location this fall & seriously… you have to go just to see how cute this location is! I love their atmosphere for Bible studies with friends or catching up to chat.

Ristretto Lounge: This coffee shop is another new favorite! Perfect for meetings in the different rooms, or for taking advantage of the natural light streaming through the huge windows. Their vanilla latte might be my absolute favorite in Auburn, and their black coffee is just as amazing.

One Bike Coffee: Another lesser-known coffee spot – perfect if you’re looking for a study place during exam season. I lead a youth group of high school girls in my church, and our meetings at this coffee shop were my favorite!

Auburn friends – did I miss any of your favorite restaurants?! Let me know so I can add them to my post-social-distancing bucket list!
