Transitional Style | Dokotoo Lookbook

If you’ve seen me recently, I’ve probably been wearing one of these dokotoo sweaters. In January, they reached out to me for a collaboration and sent me a few pieces in exchange for sharing photos on Instagram. I loved everything they sent – like this blush pink jacket – and I was thrilled when they reached out again! They sent over a few more sweaters in March, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share how I transition my style from winter to spring. PS – Dokotoo sent me these pieces in exchange for posting on Instagram, but this blog post is not required or a part of the deal in any way! I was truly impressed with their quality and loved the outfits I made with their sweaters.

This chevron color block sweater was all over Instagram this winter, and I am obsessed. I love the bright orange in the Dokotoo version, because it adds a pop of color without being overwhelming. To style this sweater for these in-between months, I tucked it into my denim skirt and added a pair of sandals. I hope that this will qualify as Auburn burnt orange for football season because I think this would be so cute on game day!

First things first: this is my favorite sweater ever and I own it in two colors. Instead of putting sweaters away for spring, wear them in unexpected ways! I wore my denim shorts plus a sweet pair of wedges that will be on my Instagram soon. The wedges tied in perfectly with the sweater, but because I was in shorts, I wasn’t sweating like a fool.

Also, if you’re ever in Opelika – find the “Bless You” sign and have a photo shoot! One of my best friends and frequent blog photographer, Greer, and I have so much fun taking photos at this building. It’s at the side of the road, and we laugh even harder at all the drivers who stare at us. We turn it into a dance party and always get the best, sassiest photos.

Saying it louder for the people in the back: I. love. this. sweater!! My favorite way to transition clothing from winter to spring is by using fabric shorts. They are so breezy that if it’s hot outside, I don’t feel gross, but I find that they’re okay if it’s chilly. Sweaters and shorts are the EASIEST way to transition style throughout this weather.

Isn’t this peach wall the prettiest? My biggest tip for taking blog photos is giving yourself time to explore. Greer and I found this wall at the back of a store after walking around and sipping our (McDonald’s) lattes. Every time we go to Opelika we find fun new spots. Honestly, if I could spend every Saturday exploring a little town, coffee in hand, I think I would be living my best life!

Thank you so much for reading – and happy Friday!

xoxo, Cecilia
