My Summer Uniform

Let’s talk about uniforms. From age 5 to 18, my life was only uniforms – aka a green and blue plaid skirt with a button-down white top. When I came to Auburn, I thought I was going to ditch uniforms forever… Not so much. Turns out my college life is also all about (non-required) uniforms! Freshman and sophomore year of college, I always wore Nike shorts or leggings with comfort colors tees. This year, I switched it up and wore fabric shorts almost every day. Clearly I’m a girl who loves her routines.

The perfect summer uniform will take out any guesswork of getting ready. No one wants to spend too much time on a busy morning trying on different outfit options. That’s where our summer uniform comes in! My perfect summer uniform consists of a black and white striped tee with cuffed denim shorts. This look is fitting for most anything Saturday will throw at you, from strolling the farmer’s market to grabbing a coffee.

You know by now how I feel about my stripes. These denim shorts are new to me, though! They are the perfect in-between length – not so short that they’ll disappear when you sit down, but not so long that they feel like Bermuda shorts. I do wish they were more high-waisted, so I’m on the hunt for shorts like that soon. I’ve been trying to be (extra) conscious to not buy clothing just because it’s on sale, but I truly only had one pair of denim shorts! I love how comfortable these are, so if you’re looking for a new pair for summer, check them out.

This week, one of my best friends (hey Greer!) and I spent the morning in Birmingham taking a TON of photos. We called the day #MuralMonday and explored downtown, looking for different photo ops. These photos are in front of the Collins Bar downtown – and look. at. how. cute! The stripes are so me. I can’t wait to keep sharing the photos from our day on the blog and Instagram, so make sure to follow along over there!

I hope you all have an amazing week! Thanks so much for stopping by.

xoxo, Cecilia

  1. I relate to this so much. I grew up wearing uniforms for school (white polo and a red+white plaid skirt; white socks+ black leather shoes) and when I got to college, I didn’t know what to wear at all! At the time, I had an internship to attend to after classes, so I decided to create my own uniform with jeans and tees. When it got boring, I just accessorized! I love your casual looks! It works so well anywhere!
