Perfect Picnic Outfit + 3 Picnic Ideas

perfect picnic outfit - white top + jean shorts

With everything going on, I’m not planning on eating inside a restaurant anytime soon. But, the weather is amazing! There’s always a cool breeze and the sun beating down on our skin… aka ideal picnic weather. I’m dressing “up” any chance I can get, so today I wanted to share my perfect picnic outfit in case you’re going picnicking all the time too!

I love the look of an easy white top tucked into some high-waisted denim. This top was gifted & is more expensive than I’d usually spend on a top, but if you’re looking for a splurge it’s a great basic! Here’s an under $40 option from Express (a lot of their site is BOGO $9.90 right now!). Plus, here’s an option less than $15 from Old Navy. I obviously paired the top with my high-waisted jean shorts from Express (similar option linked here) and a cutie little bandana. For now, I’m wearing it as a neck scarf, but it’s also a great option in case you need to wear a face covering.

I’ve become a big fan of picnics lately, so I’m basically an expert, right?! Here are 3 picnic ideas to try if you’re looking for a fun way to eat with your family or friends without getting too close.

Pizza + Beer

I had to start this list with the most realistic option… a cheap pizza and beer. Truly, this is a quintessential college meal and makes such an amazing memory if you’re with a good friend watching the sunset.

Crepes + Iced Coffee

One of the things I’m looking forward to most about moving back to Birmingham is Santos Coffee – they have the BEST coffee I’ve ever had & their crepes are amazing. On a sunny day, all I want is to grab an iced coffee and sit on a patio.

Charcuterie + Wine

If you’re trying to live your best Instagram life, make a cute charcuterie board and grab some wine. I’m so excited to do this during a sunset – since I probably won’t be able to grab dinner on my birthday, I think this would be such a sweet alternative!

This is truly such a confusing & scary time, but I’m trying to slow down and be grateful for the positive things we do see! I truly love getting the chance to enjoy a delicious meal outside, but I never would have thought to do this before. My bucket list for this summer is going to look different than normal, but I think that enjoying a meal outside once a week will definitely be a goal!
