Styling Thrifted Blazers

If you asked me to describe my style over this past year, I think I could separate it into two camps: casual chic outfits OR Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. I’m talking pink. Blazers. Business casual with a twist.

I have been in the least productive mood these last few days—and I have to remind myself that that’s okay! I’m focusing on what brings me joy (like this blog!) and getting my work done as best I can. And until we can go back to some kind of “normal”, I’ll keep looking forward to outfits like this.

I have been on a major blazer kick. I picked up two on my spring break trip with totally different vibes, so I thought I’d share how I’m styling thrifted blazers in case either of them fits your personal style!

Men’s Thrifted Blazer

Okay, I know this isn’t everybody’s style. It’s a little less “everyday outfit inspo” and a lot more Duckie from Pretty in Pink. BUT if you’re looking to get out of your comfort zone, this is such a fun look to try! I wore it in Chattanooga and felt so confident.

To style an oversized blazer like this, I keep everything else fitted and simple. Enter: bodysuits. I have two from Express now and love how both look with this outfit. One is a super simple black bodysuit (what I’m wearing above) and the other is a super cute graphic tee style. In Chattanooga, I styled the men’s blazer with mom jeans, but I think that skinny jeans make it even more flattering!

Styling a Pink Velvet Blazer

This look is so much more attainable for every day! If you check out my Pinterest, you’ll see I’ve been pinning so much fun colorful business casual inspiration lately. I’m not 100% sure what my career will look like (especially with everything going on) but I know I want to work in a creative field, so I think fun business casual looks like this will work!

To style a pink velvet blazer, I kept everything else neutral with this black & white top plus black pants. Next year, I’ll style it with white pants for a cute spring look! I also want to try to make it more casual with ripped jeans and a graphic tee. Y’all know I love styling one piece multiple ways, and this is such a fun example of that!

Now that we’re done talking about styling thrifted blazers, let’s talk entertainment! I have been reading books, watching TV & listening to podcasts like nobody’s business lately. With everything feeling so unpredictable, I keep going back to old favorites that I know I can binge. I’m watching Brooklyn Nine Nine, The Bold Type, and starting Seinfeld! Plus, some of my best friends Addie, Nikki, & I are rereading the Percy Jackson series. Something about going back to these fun lighthearted entertainment options is perfect for taking my mind off of things & reminding me of happier times.
